Welcome to ELC
Welcome to Southern Vales Christian College Early Learning! Our centres provide the first step into the life of our College. We are one school, with two campuses, located at Aldinga and Morphett Vale.
We are committed to delivering exceptional early years education for children and families. Our caring, highly qualified educators create a safe and engaging environment where every child belongs, is supported, and is encouraged to thrive.
Our centres feature generous outdoor spaces designed to spark curiosity and play. Children explore specialised areas including a sensory garden, creek, mud kitchen, sandpit, and ample covered play and learning zones that inspire creativity and discovery.
SVCC ELC is an approved Long Day Care (LDC) service. Families may be eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and access long hours of care, including early morning and afternoon sessions. Children participate in a high-quality approved Preschool Program that builds confidence and skills for a smooth transition to school and for lifelong learning. I would love to show you our centres and introduce you to our team.

Our Facilities
The ELC at both our Morphett Vale campus and our newly opened Aldinga campus offers a bright, open classroom with dedicated play areas, toilet facilities and outdoor nature playground. Each purpose-built centre features natural play spaces that inspire curiosity, creativity, and discovery as children begin their lifelong learning journey.
ELC students are also welcomed into the wider SVCC community. They enjoy excursions to the oval and forest areas, visits to the Library and Music Room, and access to other facilities across the school. They also take part in community events, helping them build a strong sense of belonging. These experiences broaden their engagement with cultural, sporting, and spiritual activities, while supporting a smooth transition into their first year of formal schooling.
ELC Garden and Nature Play
Our large outdoor space provides an engaging environment where children can be curious, use their senses, and learn through play in a variety of areas:
- Sensory garden – children can taste herbs and seasonal fruits, explore different textures and enjoy natural scents.
- Butterfly garden and creek – with native plants and running water, children can explore nature and role-play.
- Sandpit – a large, covered space for building and imaginative projects.
- Mud kitchen – a place to mix, measure, combine and create using natural elements.
- Stage – for children who enjoy drama, music, dance and the arts.
- Natural vegetation – shaded areas with trees, native birds and plenty of insect encounters.
- Covered veranda – offering protection from extreme weather while still enjoying the outdoors.
- Hammocks – for relaxing or playful swinging.
- Play areas – including a grass hill, paved space and an oval-shaped path perfect for running and riding.
Our
Programs
“The educators are fantastic, they genuinely care for the children and go above and beyond. My children always come home raving about the fun they have, the friends they’ve made, and all the things they have learnt.”
— Parent
Our SVCC ELC Preschool Program takes a whole-child approach, grounded in the latest developmental research and shaped by a Christian foundation.
Each day, children engage their minds and bodies in play and inquiry-based learning that lets them explore interests and abilities in a safe, connected community.
Early childhood teachers design purposeful experiences informed by each child’s uniqueness, the Australian Early Years Learning Framework, and sociocultural approaches such as Reggio Emilia. Through indoor and outdoor projects, children build social and emotional skills, practise self-regulation, and develop key learning dispositions such as curiosity, persistence, reflection and a growth mindset.
Our Preschool Program runs Monday to Friday and offers a variety of learning experiences and projects. Children also enjoy access to College facilities, including the library, performing arts rooms, gymnasium, grassed play areas, and oval. They explore STEM resources and begin learning Spanish as part of the College’s languages program. We view every child as capable, unique, and an active participant in their learning and community.
The Transition Orientation Program (TOP) provides a supportive and confidence-building pathway that helps children and families settle into their new
learning environment. It fosters a sense of security and belonging, encourages meaningful friendships, and builds trusting, respectful relationships with Primary teachers and the broader school community.
Family Playtime is a school-based playgroup that welcomes all families with children aged 0–5 at the SVCC Early Learning Centre. This is a joyful opportunity for families to experience nature play and create meaningful connections with the SVCC community in preparation for enrolment at ELC.

All children attend the ELC Long Day Care Program which is available Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm, with the Preschool program run only during the school term dates.
SVCC ELC is open for 48 weeks of the year.
Children from 3 to 5 years old can be enrolled in our program as follows:
ELC Long Day Care and Preschool Program
Term 1: 11 weeks
Term 2: 10 weeks
Term 3: 10 weeks
Term 4: 9 weeks
During School Holidays, ELC School Holiday Program is available for ELC students.
In the best interest of the child, we recommend ELC students attend the Preschool Program at least 3 days per week to get the maximum positive outcomes in their individual learning and development.
Please talk to the ELC Director for attendance arrangements.
For busy working and studying families, our before and after school care offers convenience and peace of mind. ELC students feel secure and supported as they transition between OSHC and ELC.
OSHC is located on the school grounds, just a short two-minute walk from the ELC. Children are personally accompanied by ELC staff, ensuring smooth transitions and clear communication between both centres to support each child’s and family’s needs.
Parents are not required to book before and after care every day, but only as needed. This flexibility allows families to pay daily fees just for the preschool program, rather than a full day of Long Day Care.
Consistent staffing arrangements are also in place so children are welcomed by familiar carers when attending before and after school care.
Storypark is the online platform our centre uses to communicate with families and to share children’s learning. Parents are invited to open an account with no cost and own/keep the memories for life.
