An Evening of Music and Performance

Heads were bopping and feet were tapping on Monday night at our biannual Southern Vales Christian College Instrumental Night. 

Mrs Katie Rex and Mr Michael Cooper, our wonderful music teachers, worked hard to facilitate a night showcasing our talented instrumentalists and vocalists within our College.

Every student who works one-on-one with a music tutor was given the opportunity to perform the skills they have been working hard to improve. Our dedicated tutors were there to support their students and accompany them when the performance required. 

The audience were treated to a range of songs, music genres, student ages, instruments, and skill levels. For our littler students, this was some of their first times onstage. Our youngest performer was Georgia, who is six years old! 

Our talented students played a range of instruments, including acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, piano, violin, drums, clarinet and vocals.

We watched Eva sing Part of Your World from Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Emily play the violin to Billy Idol’s White Wedding, Jaymin drum along to Babydoll by Dominic Fike, and Samson shred the electric guitar to I Love Rock ‘N Roll. 

The variety in performances made for an engaging event, as our students’ range of musical talent was appreciated. It will be exciting to witness their progress with each instrumental night!
