Change has begun at Morphett Vale!

BIG NEWS: Our Morphett Vale front entrance is getting a well-earned makeover!

The upgrade includes a wooden pergola adorned with vines along a trellis, an improved garden, a safer walkway for students, our values totems on better display, and a gorgeous brick wall to replace our tired old sleepers.

Take a walk with us down memory lane as we look back fondly on our past, proudly at our present, and excitedly towards our future…

Please note: The ‘future’ images are concepts only. As we progress, these plans may change as we continue discussions about what will best serve our students’ needs.

Southern Vales Christian College started as Morphett Vale Christian Community School in 1980, with 24 students and a few brick buildings. Forty-six years later, much has changed, and much has stayed the same.

Our school was born from a heart to continue teaching the Bible to students, after it was removed from public schools. The care and love that was poured into creating this school is what we want to preserve today.

Our Morphett Vale administration building has seen many changes over the years. This humble brick building has retained its original character, just with a fresh coat of paint or two! Today, it is home to our front office, library, student counsellor office, and a number of staff offices that help keep our College running each day.

We kept the tradition of caring teachers and a Christian learning environment for all our students. It has always been our College focus to nurture our children and set them up for success as they grow into adults.

We have also preserved our original buildings. Looking back on our history, we honour the hard work that went into building our College facilities.

We believe that it is important to reflect our College Values, as well as the heart and dedication that has been poured into our students and school over the years.

Therefore, we are eager for this change, as it will reflect on the outside what we know we have been on the inside since 1980; A nurturing school that cares for God’s creation and values success, esteem, pride and honour.

Our college maintenance team have already begun the process! They have been hard at work starting the initial stages and we look forward to seeing the new look quite soon…
