Embracing Challenges and Discovering Their Potential

A Recap of the Mylor Adventure Camp for Years 11 and 12

Every summer, Mylor Adventure Camp provides Year 11 and 12 students with a unique opportunity for personal growth, self-discovery, and working as a team. Located near the beautiful Onkaparinga River, the camp offers a range of physically, emotionally, and spiritually challenging activities. This year's program included archery skirmish, high and low ropes courses, raft building, games night, flying fox, boulder wall, initiative games, and a commando-like challenge course.

Despite the wet weather, the students showed remarkable resilience and determination, impressing teachers and camp staff with their positive attitudes. The high and low ropes courses tested their physical and mental endurance, and the raft-building activity in the river or swimming pool was a highlight of the camp. Students worked together to build their rafts and navigated their way through obstacles, creating a sense of unity and teamwork.

The evenings allowed the students to participate in various activities, including a trivia and games night run by teachers and a special evening of worship and reflection. Mrs. Nelson spoke about going "Next Level" through the story of God giving Jonathan victory over the Philistines, followed by a session with pastoral group teachers where students shared from the heart, sought guidance, and were encouraged.

The students were challenged in multiple ways, but they persevered and showed great joy in completing each task. The camp provided a safe and supportive environment for students to grow in their faith and challenge themselves. The students returned home with greater confidence, resilience, determination, and memories to last a lifetime.

Mylor Adventure Camp was a transformative experience for Year 11 and 12 students. They left the camp with a sense of accomplishment, facing their fears and taking on new challenges. The camp gave students a unique opportunity to challenge themselves and grow in their faith, returning to their everyday lives with greater confidence, resilience, and determination, ready to go to the "Next Level."
