Staff profile : Amanda Bone, Aldinga campus
For our first in a series of staff profiles, we would like to introduce Amanda Bone, Head of Primary at our Aldinga Campus.
Amanda started teaching Years One and Two at Aldinga in 2010, then in 2011 she began working as our Learning Support Teacher, later becoming the Coordinator.
When Mrs Jellings retired at the end of 2019, Amanda moved into her new role as Head of Primary at Aldinga Campus.
Amanda shared a bit about herself with answers to these four questions:
Question One: Why did you choose teaching as a career?
“For as long as I can remember I've always loved children and had a passion for helping them learn new things and discover their unique talents. In yr 10 I did work experience at a Kindergarten and really enjoyed it. Teaching always seemed like what God was leading me to do.”
Question Two: What is a fun memory of being at Southern Vale’s?
“I absolutely love the family fun nights at the beginning of the year. It brings so much joy to my heart to see teachers, parents and students doing community together.”
Question Three: What is special about the people you work with at Aldinga Campus?
“ We are a wonderful community; each teacher looks out for each other. The teachers at both campuses truly feel called to be a teacher, it is not just their job, they genuinely love each student and want them to achieve their best.”
Question Four: If you could have dinner with anyone from history, who would you choose and what is the one question you would want to ask them?
“I’d like to have dinner with Mary, Jesus’ mum. I’d ask her, “What was it like being mum of a Saviour?”
