students making their own instruments

There's a lot more to music than just 'playing' it - especially if you are one of the Year 12 Southern Vales Christian College students who have hand-made their own working instruments. Both Clay and Alex have combined their love of music with their design and technical skills in the workshop. Clay first selected and shaped the stunning wooden body of his bass guitar, before mastering the intricate workings of the fretboard, electronics and string adjustment. Alex's box drum, or Cajun, was designed with a hinged back so that the fittings such as snare and bells can be adjusted before playing, creating a wide range of possible percussive sounds. When these two detailed creations are played along with the other instruments and voices of the Senior Worship Band, the effect is uplifting!
